The passive Mini-SAS board adapter routes an external 26-pin SFF-8088 socket to an internal 36-pin SFF-8087 socket. This allows you to connect external storage enclosures to internal controllers or backplanes and implement clean feed-throughs through the PCI slot without additional setup effort.
